Fall has always been one of the most exciting times here at Rainier as our new crop harvest begins. It’s hard to say that all year isn’t exciting since there is always something new happening in the orchards, but there is really something special about fall. The weather gets a little more comfortable, evenings are cool and perfect for a glass of wine on the patio with a warm fire, the kids go back to school and we start picking apples. Apples that we’ve nurtured all summer long, since their very first spring blooms.
This year, there is an added sense of excitement as we enter the fall season. We are kicking off an exciting new program to highlight not only our delicious fruit, especially our organic apples, pears, cherries and blueberries, but to showcase the exciting role that our fruits play in a healthy lifestyle.
Last spring we debuted our Rising Star apples to over 60,000 runners and fans at the Boston Marathon and we were met with such overwhelming enthusiasm that we knew we needed to meet our fans where they were – outside, living there best lives. And we totally get that because that’s what we do here in Washington with Mount Rainier in the background. Before and after hours you’ll find our employees running, hiking, camping, biking, fishing and more in this outdoor playground we call home.
Throughout the next year, not only will we be preparing to be back in Boston come spring, we’ll also be at the Portland Marathon and the Minneapolis Marathon this fall and the Charleston Marathon in the new year handing out our great products. In addition, we’ll be featuring our employees, our fans and even some great motivators like Dave McGillivray, legendary race director, philanthropist and athlete to show us how they are living their best lives through a healthy lifestyle.
