Pear Tartletts

Ingredients:

  • 2 boxes of pre-formed mini fillo shells (15/box)
  • 4 oz cream cheese brought to room temp
  • 1/2-3/4 cup Gorgonzola cheese crumbles (or blue cheese)
  • 1/2 cup pecans chopped
  • 1 medium ripe (insert variety) pear
  • 1/4 cup fig jam
  • salt & pepper to taste
  • chives for garnish

Prep Time: 15 minutes
Cook Time: 15 minutes
Total Time: 30 minutes minutes
Serves: 30 tartletts

Instructions:

  1. Place mini fillo shells on a baking sheet
  2. In a medium bowl, mix cream cheese and Gorgonzola crumbles until thoroughly blended
  3. Prepare pear by coring and cutting into very small cubes – no larger than 1/4″ pieces
  4. Fold chopped pecans and diced pear into the cheese mixture
  5. Salt and pepper to taste
  6. Spoon cheese mix into each shell – it is not necessary to overfill or spread neatly, the cheese will melt and fill the shell
  7. Bake @ 325 degrees for 10-15 minutes. The shells are pre-cooked so bake only until the cheese mix is melted
  8. While tartletts are baking, heat the fig jam for 15 second increments in a microwave until it is liquid
  9. Remove tartletts from the oven when baked and spoon a bit of fig jam over each piece
  10. Garnish and serve warm
